Grief and Bereavement Therapy

Hello, my name is Kevin Light. I am a counsellor who has been helping people for over 10 years, working both in person and online.

Grief is a natural response to loss, whether it is the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or any significant life change. Bereavement, specifically, refers to the period of mourning following the loss of a loved one. Both grief and bereavement are deeply personal experiences, and while many people manage to cope with these emotions over time, others may find the process overwhelming and difficult to deal with alone. This is where grief and bereavement therapy can provide vital support.

For some, grief can lead to physical symptoms such as fatigue, sleep disturbances, and a weakened immune system. Others may struggle with maintaining daily routines or relationships as they grapple with their loss. Grief can also trigger mental health issues such as depression or anxiety, especially when compounded by existing emotional vulnerabilities.

Grief and bereavement therapy can provide a safe, non-judgemental space where clients can speak openly about their feelings, free from social pressures to "move on" quickly or hide their emotions. This validation of their experience is often one of the most healing aspects of grief therapy.

If you are struggling with grief, please get in touch with me today at Wounded Healer for a friendly chat and to learn more on how I can help you heal.
